Be Part of Something Special

We depend on the kindness of volunteers who generously contribute their time to ensure that our special athletes can savor the thrill of hitting a ball, crossing home plate, and embracing the camaraderie of being on a team. In our community, both players and volunteers forge lasting friendships, foster a sense of belonging, and most importantly, have an absolute blast! We invite you to join us for an incredibly fulfilling and joyful experience.

Be a Buddy

  • Minimum age – 12 years old
  • 1 hour commitment on a Saturday.
  • For the best results of the Buddy Program, we ask that only those that can commit register. The kids count on you just as if you were their teammate.
  • Community service hours available. The buddy must ask us for confirmation of these hours. We do not provide confirmation to parents, guardians, etc.

Coach a Team

Coaches offer leadership and guidance to our special athletes and their volunteer buddies throughout the team’s season. No experience is required.

Goals for our coaches include:

  • Ensure the safety of all players.
  • Teach players how to play baseball to the best of their ability.
  • Encourage sportsmanship, enthusiasm to all participants and promoting good behavior.
  • Have fun!

  • Coaches must be at least 18 years old.
  • Coaches must attend all games of the season.
  • Coaches must pass a background check.

Volunteer with a Group

The Toyota Bluegrass Miracle League proudly connects our players with special needs and local volunteer groups from churches, high schools, clubs, civic groups, corporations, and athletic teams.

Group Volunteering Benefits include:

  • Building collaboration
  • Volunteering helps with mental and physical health
  • Achieving corporate social responsibility for your organization
  • Experiencing something that can’t be found in a conference/classroom

Basic Group Shift Information:

  • Shifts are approximately two hours each, usually covering all youth Saturday games or adult weekday games.
  • To help with the youth leagues, volunteers must be age 12 yrs. and older; we recommend 14 yrs. and older to assist the adult league.
  • Minimum group size is six volunteers, maximum size varies.

Our players light up with joy when they have a full crowd cheering them on as they round third and head for home! You can support our players by just showing up and being there to celebrate their achievements. Make signs, sit in the stands, clap for our players, and let them know that you’re proud of them.

“He loves the joy that comes from everyone on and off the field. The buddies are wonderful with our son and the coach is super encouraging and positive.”
